Hello!

I am honored to be the School Counselor for Burnet Elementary STREAM Magnet.  I grew up in Pearland, Texas and have wanted to make Galveston my home since childhood.  On my journey, I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Education  from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in 1998 and a masters degree in Counseling from Prarie View A&M University in Prarie View, Texas in 2005.  I have taught in Magnolia ISD, Hempstead ISD, and Counseled in Conroe ISD before going overseas to Abu Dhabi, UAE to teach for a year.  My childhood dream came to fruition after returning to the USA in 2013, when I joined Galveston ISD.  I became a Burnet Pirate shortly after in 2014.  I am constantly seeking to grow as an educator and attended Lamar University online to attain a Principal Certification which was completed in the Summer of 2019.

As an instructional leader, my goal is to work with faculty, staff, families, and the community to help children develop a strong academic and social-emotional foundation that will manifest with successful adults who have a desire for life-long learning in a diverse and ever changing society.  It is my belief that every student is able to learn and will be successful if we, as educators, give them the the tools and opportunities to make mistakes in a safe environment.  I believe that many times, it is through failure we find our greatest victories.  If you have any questions about how I can help your child meet their full potential socially, emotionally, or academically, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I look forward to working with your family.
